DAS (Direct Attached Storage), SAN (Storage Area Network) & NAS (Network Attached Storage)
⭕ DAS (Direct Attached Storage):
Think of it as a personal hard drive for your server.
Connects directly to a single server.
Simple and affordable, but limited scalability and sharing.
⭕ SAN (Storage Area Network):
Like a dedicated highway for data access in your data center.
Pools storage devices and connects them to multiple servers through a high-speed network.
Offers high performance, scalability, and centralized management.
⭕NAS (Network Attached Storage):
A shared file server on the network, accessible by multiple users and devices.
Easy to set up and manage, good for file sharing and collaboration.
Less performance-intensive than SAN, but not as scalable or suitable for mission-critical data.
