What is Modular Plug Terminated Link (MPTL)?

A modular plug terminated link (MPTL) is a permanent link without the installation of any outlet or any patch cord, and the horizontal cable in an MPTL connects directly to the end device.

Previously, the TIA-568-C.2 required that horizontal cable be terminated on a telecommunications outlet to provide flexible access to the user.

Within the ANSI-TIA568.2-D standard is a new link model named “Modular Plug Terminated Link”
